I'm a survivor - it will be six years since they found my breast cancer. Just before Christmas 2002 I had my mammogram and the doctor saw something blurry. Dr. Fillippone found my lump in the first place. I could tell something wasn't right. Sure enough I had an appointment so they could schedule surgery! January 2 of 2003. I wasn't afraid. I believe in God and without him I wouldn't be here today!
The doctors said I was lucky I found this at an early stage. Don't wait if you're told. Have it taken care of as soon as possible. Dr. Bushman was my surgeon and Dr. Paul Anderson was my radiation treatment doctor at Joe Arrington. I took tamoxifen for five years, had 30 treatments of radiation - no more pills for me.
I had 30 treatments of radiation. My doctors and nurses were angels. And now I get my messages at Oceans - they're wonderful stress relief.
