"Today I am Self-Aware!"

'I was slapping my head with the pot holders!'

I found my lump through a monthly breast exam, had surgery and was diagnosed in June 1998 with breast cancer. I went through chemotherapy and radiation.

I had wonderful supporters who were my mom and sister, and I wouldnít have made it without them! They were absolutely wonderful and were with me every step of the way.

When all my hair fell out, I went to wearing a wig. One day at lunch I was cooking pizzas in the oven for my boys, and when I opened the oven door, the heat caught my wig on fire! I was slapping my head with the pot holders! We all had a good laugh and that seem to lighten the load in the house!

I am so very grateful and happy to say I am a 10-year survivor and look forward to another 10! The world would be a wonderful place if we could eradicate breast cancer once and for all! Please do your monthly exams it could save your life.
